Sorry that I haven't posted in over a month, but life has been crazy these past few weeks, but I promise that I will start posting regularly from now. I am planning on going back and watching the 2005 Nationals this weekend and I promise that I will be posting about that. I am also wondering if anyone knows a way to watch the 2006 Nationals because I can't seem to find it anywhere. That's all for now, but look forward more posts in the near future.

2001 U.S. National Championships Finals

Here is day two of the 2001 U.S Nationals.

Okay, here are my thoughts on the finals day of competition:

Favorite Routine: Tabitha Yim on beam
Favorite Leo: Tabitha Yim (I think I liked even better that the blue one on day one)
Worst Fall: Morgan White (It's not that the fall was painful to watch, it was just so sad to see her fall on the same combination both days)

I think the second day had a much higher level of gymnastics that the first. I really liked how they spent some time on the junior competition even showed us two routines. I also found Al's comment on Tasha Schwikert being a superhero in her green and blue leo was very amusing. Mohini Bhardwaj looked very dated, in my opinion, with the XL white scrunchie. Her bars were pretty bad and I think she would have gotten a much lower score with the new code of points. I also really liked Katie Heenan floor, it was one of those routines that was just entertaining. Another highlight of the day would have to be Tasha's vaults, which were both some of her best. Overall I found this nationals to be not great, but not boring either, pretty much middle of the road.

So here is the 2001 U.S. National Championships, I only became a major gymnastics fan about 8 months ago and I am going back and watch a lot of older competitions. Scroll down to the bottom for my favorite routines and personal highlights.

Okay so here are my favorite and least favorites from this competition:

Favorite Routine: Tasha Schwikert on floor!

Favorite Leo: Tabitha Yim's

Worst Fall: Marie Fjordholm on beam

I really wish they would show more gymnasts I feel like they only showed about 5 gymnast. I also really loved the little fluff piece on Morgan White. All of the comments about Ashley Miles being a larger gymnast were hilarious.

Finals and more nationals coming soon, I will have more comment as we get to competitions with gymnasts that a know a little better.
